When we have attachments and emotional entanglements, the changes that inevitably occur in our lives can be accompanied by an intense sensation of Loss. This feeling can be accompanied by episodes of grief and guilt, by physical illness and mental impairment. This sensation of Loss is a signal that we need to let go, to release the attachments, to disentangle ourselves from our emotions and the manipulation of our 'ego', the false sense of separated, individual self-hood. When we persevere with the work of letting go and releasing related to Loss, we will attain progressive levels of liberation, leading us eventually to a state of equanimity and inner peace. |
