SHIELD

When one is focussed in the false identity of individual self-hood this creates a defensive Shield which prevents one from apprehending the true nature of being and from connecting to the greater whole of which they are but a reflection. This Shield is often unconsciously developed in order to preserve the sense of individuality to which one can become unreasonably attached. This Shield is created in response to environmental stimuli which arise as a challenge to the sense of individual self. From the perspective of this separated 'self' there needs to be something to maintain it in stasis. However this static state is in contradiction to Reality which is constantly in process and is never able to be predicted. The challenge is to drop the Shield and stand 'naked' in the light of Reality, to observe oneself as one truly is and to be prepared to grow and evolve with the process as it flows through the awareness. |
